Overview: |
|
The Action Sports Championships features the season-ending World Championships
events for skateboarding, BMX, inline skating and freestyle motocross (FMX).
Besides all of the top superstars of action sports, the event will also
include national music talent performing live and an interactive skatepark
for locals to ride with the pros. Gen Y cultural activities such as break-dancing,
video
games, graffiti art, DJ’s, home videos, the Internet and an industry expo
surround the event as part of its Festival Village. |

November 15 – 23 in Los Angeles at Fairplex (LA County Fairgrounds) |

| Format: |
|
The event runs for 9 days from Saturday through the following Sunday.
Each sport will run its season-ending Championships over an exclusive two-day
period so that each sport gets its own “time in the sun” and
the athletes are not forced to share the ramps, practice time, TV exposure
and crowds. In addition, each sport will have its own industry expo in
the Festival Village
to celebrate the entire action sports landscape. |

| TV Coverage: |
|
The event features a minimum of eighteen (18) hours of national television
coverage on Fox Sports Net from November 28 – January 3 and will
be distributed on a worldwide basis. |

| Prize Money: |
|
$650,000 in cash and prizes (the largest per sport prize money in
history) |

|
|
| Participants: |
|
The event features two hundred fifteen (215) of the top pros from skateboarding,
BMX, inline skating and FMX, including all the biggest names in those sports.
